Session 2: Drug-Drug Interactions (DDIs)
This session explores the fundamental concepts of drug-drug interactions (DDIs), explaining how medications work in the body and how they can influence each other's effects. It introduces key concepts such as pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, highlighting the potential risks and benefits of combining different medications through real-world examples. The session also emphasises the importance of patient involvement in identifying and reporting possible interactions, including the role of Patient-Reported Outcomes (PROs) and Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) in improving medication safety and supporting informed treatment decisions.
